Custom Products Corporation

Every newsletter we profile a local business in our Northeast Ohio community.

Earlier this month I met with Tim Stepanek, president and part owner of Custom Products Corporation, headquartered in Glenwillow.

profile-1Originally a business forms management company started by Tim’s father in 1975 out of a single room, Custom Products has grown and evolved into a contract packager and supplier, operating in what is now 300,000 square feet of operating and warehouse space. Run by Tim and his brothers John and Bill, Custom Products now ships products worldwide, and has sales in 32 states.

The chances are very good that if you have shopped the retail or hardware aisle at your local store, you have seen items that Custom Products has played a role in packaging.

The company now has 110 full-time employees, and uses several hundred temporary employees to meet customer demands.

Tim attributes the company’s growth and continued success to its reputation for emphasizing quality control in its customer service.

“We have processes in place to ensure that all our shipments meet our customer’s stringent quality expectations,” he said. “We are capable of receiving, storing, packaging and shipping large volumes of product at a time, and we procure and manage all of the packing materials needed for each product.”

profile-2Along with packaging services, Custom Products also provides inventory control services, the scope of which ranges from meeting customer needs for contract packaging operations, to providing inventory control and selling packaging supplies directly to its customers.

With locations in Glenwillow and Solon, Custom Products is ideally located to meet the needs of consumer and industrial supply businesses throughout Northeast Ohio.

“Northeast Ohio is a great place to own and operate a business,” Stepanek said. “We have access to excellent hard-working employees, great public services, and a general positive business environment.”
