Happy New Year! As 2015 draws to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to update everyone on the efforts of my campaign to be the next state senator for Ohio Senate District 24.
First, none of what has been accomplished this year could have happened without those individuals who have shown their support by donating money, hosting meet-and-greets in their homes, walking door-to-door or endorsing my candidacy. For their efforts I am especially grateful.
Since I first announced my run for the state Senate in February, I have taken full advantage of the opportunity to engage fellow Republicans throughout the district. The reception at local GOP club meetings, chamber of commerce events and city council meetings has been overwhelmingly positive. However, it has been the response of voters as I go door-to-door that has been a true source of inspiration.
I started going door-to-door in June. Whether it has been in Solon, Brecksville, Strongsville or Westlake, I have found the voters to be very engaged and very receptive to my campaign. My message has been one of local control, a smarter, more efficient state government and an accountable education system that prepares our students to meet the needs and demands of the private sector and the future Ohio economy. And of course, I have talked about the importance and tremendous opportunity we have in Lake Erie.
Finally, I am honored to have received the public support of so many of our elected officials, including Secretary of State Jon Husted, Congressman David Joyce and Cuyahoga County Councilman Jack Schron. Brecksville Mayor Jerry Hruby, Highland Heights Mayor Scott Coleman, Lyndhurst Mayor Pat Ward, North Royalton Councilman John Nickell, and Rocky River Councilman Chris Klym have voiced their support for my campaign, as well. I hope that everyone enjoyed the holiday season with their family and friends. I look forward to seeing all of you in the new year.
